For What Are Function Keys in the Computer Keyboard?

 

Madalas ay hindi natin napapansin ang mga function keys sa ating computer keyboards. And probably that's because we were accustomed with the basic keys that we normally use, which are the alphabet and numeric keys. However, once we already understand how important these function keys are, for sure, they will already be part of our regular typing habits.

Fucntion keys provide shortcut to operations that we do when typing or browsing the internet. The following are the general functions of every function key.

F1 - opens the help window of an application or webpage

F2 - renames the selected or highlited file or folder

F3 - opens the search function of a page

F4 - places your cursor on the address bar (this is where you type links) of the web browser

F5 - refreshes or reloads a webpage

F6 - selects the windows tab of a webpage, and also places your cursor on the address bar

F7 - used in activating spelling and grammar check in a document processor (MS Word or Google Docs)

F8 - usually used in entering windows safe mode

F9 - activates

F10 - navigates the menu bar or ribbon of an application or webpage

F11 - used to enter or exit full screen mode

F12 - opens the web developer app tool for a webpage
